« Metiko » Independent shop for manufacturing items of bulrush is officially
registered on November, 1st
2007. Although this craft is already 3 generations in our
family The Certificate of Ministry of Economy and Regional development of Republic
Serbia we got on February, 16th
2011 and it is filed under number 323, which means
that it belongs to a group of old and artistic crafts. This certificate also allows us to
put on our products stylish label «open hand».
From its inception to the present day «Metiko» has a lot of significant activities. Pavle
Necakov, as the owner and Maja Djurovic, as designer and his closest associates
made some serious steps forward and as the most significant there are:
In April 2010 we cooperate with elementary and secondary school «9. Maj» for
children with special needs. Within this cooperation we organize workshops with
children twice a week. Cooperation with this school lasts until today on mutual
In May 2010 we took part in a workshop of old and artistic crafts on farm «Stremen» in Jakovo, organized by Ministry of Trade. Workshop lasted 2 days and it was
In July 2010 in Ethnographic Museum of Serbia we took part in the first national
exhibition of old and artistic crafts. After this exhibition where we had very remarkable
and well-attended presentation, we continued cooperation with Ethnographic
Museum of Serbia through workshops for children aged 8-10. This cooperation lasts
In June 2011 in shopping mall «Delta City» Ministry of Trade organized exhibition of
old and artistic crafts and we took part in it.
In August 2011 we were at music festival «Exit» at the part of festival dedicated to
the preservation of the environment, recycling and environmental products.
Also in August 2011 we cooperate with Regional Chamber of Commerce Zrenjanin
and achieve membership in the executive committee of the Association of
Entrepreneurs Zrenjanin. Through the memberships in these two institutions we have
a chance to be the part of numerous trade shows in the whole region – Slovenia,
Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, Hungary etc . In May 2012 in cooperation with non-governmental organization «Panonski talas» we
organize workshops for preservation and promotion of old crafts.
In November 2012 we have another workshop with the same non-governmental
organization and raised it to a higher level. We are also in the process of applying for
even bigger and more serious projects.
